Why You Should Treat Mainlines Using The RootX Direct Pour Method
For over 30 years RootX has been manufacturing and distributing the RootX foaming root control product to customers to effectively and efficiently treat sewer mainlines for root intrusion using the RootX Direct Pour Method of Application. This application method allows you to treat a line immediately upon its discovery with no special equipment and not needing to schedule a root treatment with your contractor sometime down the road on their schedule. A single person can do the application and it just takes minutes to apply. All you need to do is carry a few RootX 40 lb. boxes on your truck. Then you when you come across a root intrusion issue, you can treat it right at that moment. The application process takes just a few minutes and will treat up to 300 feet of 8 inch sewer line.

Direct Pour Application Steps
To take control of your root control program follow these four simple steps to easily treat a sewer mainlines using our RootX 20 lb. bags and water.

Calculate
Determine the length and diameter of the line to calculate the amount of RootX and water needed for the application. You can refer to the chart below or contact your RootX Rep.

Mix
At the upstream manhole mix the required amount of RootX by releasing the center seam on the 20 lb. bag by pulling the sides outward or by dropping the bag on the ground.

Pour
Pour the dry RootX chemical into the manhole directing it toward the bottom of the pipeline at the outflow/downstream side. Make sure to direct the dry RootX formula into the pipe trough.

Add Water
Immediately pour the required amount of water in the manhole forcing the dry powder and instant foam downstream. Make sure to add enough water to force all of the RootX chemical into the downstream pipe.

Application Rates
Water required is dependent on existing water flow. Add 25 to 30 gallons of water to the manhole per 40 lbs. of RootX used in average flow lines.

Let gravity do the work for you! In this video you can see the expansion of the RootX foam within a pipe by just adding water and letting gravity pull the foam down the length of the line.
The patented RootX formula creates an impressive amount of foam that will travel down the line with the push of added water, coating the pipe walls, killing the roots and leaving a residual that will prevent regrowth.
