RootX FAQs
Find all the answers you need to keep your sewer and septic systems root-free.
What kind of chemicals does RootX use?
RootX kills roots using dichlobenil, a aquatic herbicide that proven to be both effective and has minimal impact on the environment. RootX also contains degreasing agents that strip away the grime on roots, allowing the dichlobenil herbicide to penetrate the root ends. Unlike other root control chemicals, RootX contains no toxic diquat dibromide, copper sulfate, or metam sodium.
How much water do I apply to the RootX once poured into the cleanout or toilet?
You should apply 10 gallons of water per 2 lbs. of RootX used immediately after pouring in the dry RootX. Waiting to add the water can cause an overflow of foam.
How long does it take the RootX foam to dissipate after application?
The fast-acting RootX foam will normally dissipate in less than 15 minutes.
